What Is Transparent Text with Shadow?
Transparent text with shadow is lettering that floats over your photo or video with no background box — only the characters and their drop shadow export as a high-resolution PNG with an alpha channel. YouTubers use it for thumbnail titles, streamers for OBS overlays, designers for Canva stickers, and editors for Premiere lower-thirds.
Multi-Layer Shadow Controls
Tune Offset X / Y for direction, Blur for soft glows, Opacity for background contrast, and Depth Steps for 3D poster text. Combine dual outer shadows with inner and projected shadows for extreme visual impact.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is the Transparent Text with Shadow Generator?
It is a browser-based canvas studio that renders your text with customizable drop shadows on a transparent background. Unlike Unicode copy-paste tools, it uses real display fonts from our transparent-text-shadow-font folder and exports high-resolution PNG images with an alpha channel — ready to composite over photos, videos, or stream overlays.
Which fonts can I use?
The Typography tab has three sources: Bundled (11 display fonts from our transparent-text-shadow-font folder), Google Fonts (search 1,900+ families with live preview), and My Uploads (your own .ttf/.otf files stored locally). Bundled fonts include Bebas Neue, Burbank, Hollywood, Matrix, and Helvetica Bold.
Can I use Google Fonts?
Yes. Open Typography → Google Fonts to search the full Google Fonts library. Only the font you select is loaded via the public Google Fonts CSS endpoint — no API key required. Pick a weight (400–800) and apply the same shadow, outline, and PNG export controls as bundled fonts.
Can I upload my own font?
Yes. Open Typography → My Uploads and drop a .ttf, .otf, .woff, or .woff2 file. Fonts are saved in your browser's IndexedDB and never uploaded to our servers. You can store up to 10 fonts (8 MB each). Only upload fonts you have the rights to use. Share links cannot include uploaded fonts — recipients will see the default bundled font instead.
How do I export transparent text with a shadow?
Keep the background set to Transparent (the default), tune shadow offset, blur, and opacity in the Shadow tab, then download PNG at 1×, 2×, or 4× scale. The exported file includes only your letterforms and shadow — no background rectangle — so you can drag it into Canva, Photopea, Premiere, or OBS.
How is this different from the White Text on Black Background tool?
The White Text on Black Background Generator defaults to solid #000000 backgrounds for high-contrast title cards. This transparent shadow studio defaults to alpha-channel export with drop shadow enabled — designed for compositing text over existing images and video frames rather than filling the canvas black.
How is this different from the Animated Text Generator?
The Animated Text Generator adds motion — bounce, wave, GIF/WebM export, and 450+ fonts across gaming and movies. This studio focuses on static shadow typography with precise offset, blur, depth, and outline controls for PNG overlays.
What shadow presets work best?
Soft Drop Shadow is the default for general overlays. Hard Offset Shadow gives crisp meme-style captions. Neon Glow Shadow uses colored blur for signage. YouTube Overlay adds outline plus shadow for video compositing. Long Shadow stacks depth steps for poster graphics.
Can I use any font from the folder?
Yes. Open the Typography tab to compare all bundled faces side by side. Each card shows a live preview so you can choose Bebas Neue for bold titles, Burbank for impact captions, or Helvetica Bold for subtitle lower-thirds — all with the same shadow controls.
How does this compare to TextStudio?
TextStudio offers one drop shadow and limited export options. This studio adds dual outer shadows, inner and projected shadows, dual 3D depth layers, shadow-only mode (no fill), text rotation, fitted PNG/JPG export, custom output width, 1,900+ Google Fonts, custom font upload, shareable project links, and undo/redo — all free with no account required.
Does my text or uploaded font leave my browser?
No. All rendering runs locally on your device. Uploaded fonts stay in IndexedDB on your device only. Google Fonts load from Google's CDN when you select them. Design settings autosave in browser storage. Share links encode text and style only — not uploaded font files.
